The Face, The Teeth

This is Camden's face. In this picture he's blowing in and out of his nose...blowin' off steam, I call it. Pat and I can't help but laugh when he does it. He knows it's funny, many times he'll crack a smile while he's doing it and then laugh with us. I have a video of it that I'll try to post. Some times I'm afraid he's going to pass out he does it so hard! Silly boy.
I wanted to show you all his four teeth. A few of you reminded me to take good care of them in a previous post! I give him a toothbrush for babies and brush them a little bit each night while reading (at least that's the goal), but I don't use paste...what about fluoride? Any advise?(Katie, Jamie, PaHobbs, and anyone else with a child with teeth... :))

Josie Fish, Camden Fish

July 18-26, 2007When I went to Florida for 4 days, My completely adorable niece, Josie, and my amazing Mom came to town to watch Camden while Pat was at work. I was able to visit with them a little before and after the trip. Josie is a fish!! Camden ADORES her!
Josie and Gma wore the poor kid out! Playing so hard can be rather exhausting.
Fish Out of Water!
We love our little fish! Camden is now signing fish and can tell you "what a fish says". Some of his favorite songs are Slippery Fish and Baby Beluga. Maybe we'll paint his new room "under the sea"...or maybe the bathroom, like Sharon's (Our Camarillo neighbor and great friend).

Recovery

This is Camden recovering from his surgery last week. Pretty chill...poppin' cheerios and watching "Baby Signing Time". It's been a little rough but we got through it and full recovery is very soon to come. Yesterday the catheter was removed and we were able to stop most of the dreaded meds, but we still have a bit of thrush to get over and a little irritation to get past before jumping into the pool. Time is flying!
This picture reminds me of a picture of myself as a baby...but I really was white and fat. Camden's just sitting funny...he's a bean pole. See tooth # 3? #4 has made his appearance too, since the surgery. Doesn't his hair look red?! I love it.

Thanks everyone for your support and concern! We love you all!

Second Story Up!

Last night, Pat rescued Camden and I from a long recovery day in the house and took us to see the new place! The stairs haven't been built yet so this was the best shot of the up stairs we could get. The plan we chose is actually a flip of the model home so it's kind of weird walking in, it feels like a completely different plan. All the more excitement and anticipation that gives us. The back yard looks bigger than I remember and so does the living room area. Unfortunately, the driveway looks smaller than we remembered :) Of course it will all even out and be "just right" in the end. We are so excited!

My 1st SURGERY

Camden's Surgery for Hypospadious was a success!! (Look it up if you don't know what that is , I know you have the internet :))They were able to accomplish everything they wanted in one surgery...that means no surgery a year down the road, thank goodness! Pat and I feel so blessed. The surgery was 2 hours and recovery...well, we'll see. It was an out-patient procedure . Thanks for all of your prayers and thoughts! We love you all!

Is Camden not the cutest patient you've ever seen!! I wanted to take the robe home it was so cute!

Camden loves his bear... they snuggle up so cute, I get so jealous! J/K It's just adorable. Camden's doing OK. It's been a struggle to keep any food down...and medicine but we're figuring it out. Camden is a really strong kid. He hasn't really shown signs of pain since the surgery (except for constipation). Sleep has been a struggle for the past two nights...I assume any "training" for good sleep habits I've attempted over the past 9 months are down the drain. He vomited in his crib last night and woke up every 45 min after that I swear. Iyo! That's OK, this is what motherhood is all about, right? :)

Idaho and beyond

This is Grandma and Grandpa Searle's land. Acres and acres! I loved visiting with the two of them Monday in Shelley, Idaho. They are such amazing people and wonderful examples to all of us.
Grandma is a firecracker! She's so smart and need I mention, drop dead gorgeous!
Camden took to Grandpa quick. He also enjoyed visiting wth there little dog...can't remember his name. I hope Camden grows up to have a heart like his great grandpa, so generous and selfless.
Because my Dad's service was in SLC, we had an unexpected Cheney Reunion as well! Here's the famous trio just chillin' in their PJ's at Bumpa Hobbs. The evenings were beautiful in Highland (Utah).
When we returned to Utah (after a quick flight to California and back) Friday, we caught up with the rest of the Hobbs for our Family Reunion in Midway, UT. We went to the pool and a rodio! Unfortunately Pat and I were both sick with the stomach flu so this is the only picture we took. It reminds me of how busy we get down here on earth, forgetting what matters most sometimes and how constant the Lord is. I hope I've learned from this trip to stop and smell the roses a bit more...a lot more.

Lady's Weekend 2007

Together again! Three Dearest friends unite at the happiest place on earth! Walt Disney World!! Bethany Cambell, Breanne Bell and I have been friends for 12 years now. When we are together we feel indispensables, empowered, young and free! For 3 Days and 4 nights we reunited to rekindle the "fire" of our friendship before our lives get any crazier apart. Love you girls, hope you know I'm your number one fans and think you are amazing!! What a fun memory to add to our many!
Orlando is so unpredictable! Well, not really to the locals. I guess it rains pretty hard every clear warm day around 4pm. While Beth was at work Saturday, Bre and I ran around in the rain at the Epcot center. It was the highlight of our day! That and breakfast with the princesses...
Bethany surprised us for our birthdays with a royal breakfast! As the Disney Princess came around to take pictures with us, Bre and I talked about very important things like what disney characters we would play best. Of course we wanted our faces to be part of the costume because that means you are better than every one else (Disney World Politics)...So Bre would be Bell and I would be Alice in Wonderland.
Bethany works behind the scenes as a horticulturist for the Epcot Center. She gave us her tour of the beautiful green houses and explained to us what she does everyday. She is so passionate about her work and it shows in her presentation and work. No wonder Disney wanted her to stay!! Their greenhouses provide much of the produce for the Epcot center Restaurants. Much of it is grown above ground... I can't remember the cool term used...hydroponics?

loved the adventure girls! see you at Bre's wedding in a few months!!

PROGRESSION

Here's the progress of our home being built in South Mountain! It was really fun choosing the model and interiors with Pat but then we didn't hear from anyone or see any building for a couple of months and the excitement died. When Pat showed me these pictures my stomach flipped! I am getting more and more excited now. The Home will be ready to move into the end of November. I can't wait to paint the walls!

The 4th

We started our celebration with the traditional 7am flag raising ceremony and big yummy breakfast with the ward. I was really impressed by the food...no costco muffins and OJ, we had pancakes, eggs, bacon, fruit and biscuits with gravy!
Camden enjoyed the pancakes and watermelon! We left before the primary kids made their round around the cultural hall on their decked out mobiles (By 8am in was already in the 90's so they kept the events inside...I thought that was kind of funny).

Pat had to go into work until 3ish so Camden and I prepared the cabobs and fruit pizza for our BBQ. Then we went to the facility to party with the residents for an hour. They always love to see Camden and he's really good with them...not freaked out. Our friends Jenna and Brian, Tyler and Lisha with their two cute kids, came over to our pool for a long swim and super good food. One of the best BBQ I've had for awhile. That evening we found a huge parking lot across the freeway from the fireworks show in Tempe. The view was great and it was a funway to close our celebration.

Luke Lassen came to visit on the 3rd. It was nice to have old friends come to visit! Thanks for thinking of us Cristin and Erik!! Luke put this toy to great use. He proved to us all that more than one kid can play with this thing at the same time. He's one talented climber!! camden just ran around him...I know he loved having someone to play with. Camden and I went swimming with the Lassens in Erik's grandma's pool afterward. More than one person commented on how Camden and Luke could be twins. I loved listening to Luke talk. I can't believe Camden could be that social in just four months! Thanks for the fun guys!

Up and Running

My phone works again!! Well, I got a new one (Free...with an extended contract of course). Same phone number, but I lost all of my contact numbers I had saved :(. I've got most of your email addresses or Pat has your numbers, or I could always blog you. Don't worry, I'll find you. It's good to be connected again. :)

Pilot at Play: Camden 8 Months

I'm an Ari Wanna-be. I know, I always have been. I don't want to pay for Camden to have his picture taken by "professionals", so I tried to create my own studio as my talented sister (who is a photographer) successfully has done in her home. Camden will be 8 months next week. I can't believe it! He is my joy.

FYI

If you're trying to call me and I'm not answering or returning your calls...
it's because I dropped my cell phone in the pool today. I was taking Camden's hat out of the back of the stroller and the next thing I knew my phone was sinking to the bottom of the pool...the deep end (it's not that deep but I want you to feel sorry for me instead of thinking I'm a dork for not paying more attention to the fact that the phone was in the hat). What can you do huh? Expensive accidents happen. Has anyone heard of a successful phone dissection after an accident like this? I need a really small screw driver.
Anyhow, you can email me if you need to get a hold of me.

My Famous Baby

This is my paparazzi photo. No, I'm not hiding in a tree. I'm reminded of all of the famous babies out there these days whose photo's are coveted. Like Tomkat's little what's-her-name. And don't you find it strange that Tom and Katie are referred to as TomKat? Why is that accepted by the world? I think it's weird. I guess it's because they don't share the same last name, like "the Hobbs". I could see that becoming a very popular trend, especially for people who aren't married but living together (i.e. Brangi = Brad and Angelina). There's probably a scripture somewhere that prophecies of this silliness in the last days. Anyhoo...Cute picture of Camden and his Dad.

Our AZ Temple

(Here are a few more pictures of our visit to the Temple with Ma Hobbs)
I love this Temple. It looks like King Solomons. It was built in 1927 and was practically the only buildings standing in the phoenix area. This past April we went to see the Easter Pageant here with Grandpa Hobbs. This time we went with Ma Hobbs and she pointed out all of the beautiful details. She's a beauty with an eye for beauty!
"I love to see the Temple..."
This is the front of the Temple. If you look closely you can see a man resting his head againt the temple near the front door, on the left. I'm sorry mister, you don't get the blessings that way... (I'm guessing he was trying to cool off his forehead. It was over 110 degrees that day, I'm sure).

Ma Hobbs and Father's Day

Grandma Hobbs (a.k.a. Ma Hobbs or Debbie) came out Thursday on Pat's birthday to surprise him! It was a great surprise. She was so fun to have for the weekend (we wish it was longer). We showed her our new place and took Pat shopping for new shoes and shirts.
Camden loves his Grandma! They became buddies pretty quick. This is a picture of them looking at the fountain on the temple grounds.
Here's a silly picture of Pat and me.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! PAT, YOU'RE AN AWESOME DAD! CAMDEN AND I LOVE YOU!
