Luckily, Pat and his fellow work buddies were awarded a short stay in beautiful Sedona for meeting some goals. They left Thursday afternoon. That night they went mountain biking for a bit and out to dinner where they ate rattle snake...I think that was it?! Anyway, some spouses and kids joined up with them the next evening after they finished a 10 mile ride, some brief meetings, a breakfast feast and long game of golf. The place was gorgeous. We stayed one night (one short night, I couldn't find Cam's play pin so he slept on the floor and woke up at 5am). Pat and I went for a morning drive through the changing colors of the canyon and then went out to breakfast. I LOVE going out to breakfast!! We tried to take a nap before our hike with the Hoopes and Mure families but Camden wouldn't have it. After the hike we windo shopped from the car (I was looking for a candy I've been day dreaming about for months now) we couldn't find a shop that might possibly sell them so we didn't stop. We went out to lunch and headed home.
What a breath of fresh air!! Like 2 years ago, Pat and I set a goal to have one "adventure Saturday" a month. We both love to be active and outdoors but it's so easy for us to just do nothing on Saturdays. It only took us 1 1/2 to get home so we've decided we'll make this our official spot for getaways once a month, until we find new, BEAUTIFUL places to go.
SOMETIMES YOU JUST NEED TO GET AWAY, A CHANGE OF SCENERY, TO PUT LIFE SOMEWHAT BACK INTO PERSPECTIVE.
